Admired for its deep, rich and distinctive flavor, Zucca is prepared using the roots of a special type of rhubarb together with other spices and botanicals.
Appreciated by the King Vittorio Emanuele, Zucca was entitled as a "Supplier of the Italian Royal House". The name Zucca name is also associated with one of the most traditional and best known cafes in Milan: the "Zucca in Galleria" situated, since 1867, at the Galleria's entrance, just opposite the Duomo. Famous as a meeting point serving Zucca, Verdi and Toscanini were regulars on their way home from La Scala, also the artists Dudovich and Carra were often there into the early hours of the morning.
