In James Suckling's recent list of the top 2011 Barolos, we are pleased to announce that Pio Cesare 2011 Barolo DOCG Ornato was featured with an outstanding 97 points.
It was favourably described as "a complex and complete wine", with flavours of "black cherry, mushroom, wet earth and plum".
Also commended was its ability to be "full-bodied yet so refined".
Suckling summarised the Barolo as "carressing in texture, with wonderful length" and while it is good drinking now, the suggestion is that "it will give much more in the future".
Arquilla congratulates Pio Cesare on this outstanding accolade.
