Hollywood’s night of nights for another year and after one long-awaited win we can proudly say Toscano’s Luce wine is the choice of Academy Award winners.
The Revanent, took home Oscars for both Best Actor and Best Director, and Leonardo DiCaprio describes it as “the most difficult film I’ve ever done”. So naturally once shooting wrapped the actor was in need of the perfect wine to unwind.
Dining in Rome’s ‘Dal Toscano’ restaurant was host to Revenant director Alejandro Iñárritu with Dicaprio. Naturally, the pair ordered a bottle of Toscano Luce which Dicaprio claims to be the “wine of his heart”.
About Toscano Luce
Luce was the first wine created in Montalcino combining the roundness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese. The luxurious, velvety purple-red hue, makes it a natural choice for those walking the red carpet.
A special occasion wine, Luce brings the perfect blend of rich, sweet notes full with dried plums, blackberry, chocolate, vanilla, pencil lead, tobacco and liquorice.
The overall effect is a smooth, firm and elegant wine, which should be enjoyed at length, preferably over dinner (perhaps in Rome with this year’s Best Actor Winner).
DiCaprio isn’t the only star to favor this Toscano favourite, last year for the Italian release of the film "The Monuments Men", George Clooney and Matt Damon also treated themselves to a magnum of Luce.
We know what Leo was celebrating with on Oscar night, if it’s good enough for Gatsby, it’s good enough for us.
