Wine writer Dave McIntyre has listed Leone de Castris 'Five Roses Rosato Salento 2013' in The Washington Post's "5 Rosés to Try".

A true classic, Five Roses was the first rosé bottled and sold in Italy and has continued in strong fashion following this initial production in 1943, with vintages receiving several laudations from Vino del Oscar and Gamberro Rosso.

Composed of 90% Negroamaro and 10% Black Malvasia, the wine was described by McIntyre as "bright red in color, juicy and elegant in flavor".

The blend received a rating of 2 1/2 stars out of 5, placing it in the 'excellent' category.
