It’s 300 years since Cosimo de Medici appointed the area of Nipozzano as the very first Chianti Rufina appellation and declared the wine produced there among the “best four” of Tuscany.
Officially recognised in the 18th Century by an Edict of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III, Nipozzano became famous after gracing the tables of Renaissance masters such as Donatello and Brunelleschi.
The Frescobaldi Family pioneered wine production in the Tuscan region of Italy more than 700 years ago, with the first references to the Rufina wines dating to the 15th Century. Nipozzano continues its dedication, producing outstanding wines of the highest quality, which are now enjoyed all over the world.
Cheers to Nippozano, their enduring legacy and 300 years of incredible wine!
