Celebrated wine reviewer Robert Parker favourably reviews the Frescobaldi Estate of Nipozzano.
We are delighted to report that two wines from the realm of the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi have been favourably reviewed by Wine Advocate's Robert Parker.
The Castello di Nipozzano estate is located in the prestigious territory of Chianti Rufina, overlooking Florence and the river Arno. The wines produced from this perfectly balanced winery are celebrated for their harmonious character and great longevity.
Parker has awarded the Montesodi 2010 an outstanding 92 points out of 100, describing it as "a soft and sophisticated style with bold fruit and savoury touches of toasted espresso beean, chocolate, exotic spice lavished over a solid core of dark fruit".
Highlighting the wonderful reputation of the winery, Parker also mentions a "touch of modernity and chewy sweetness that characterize so many of Frescobaldi's best wines".
It has an anticipated maturity of 2014 - 2022.
Also commended was the Nipozzano 2010, which received 90 out of 100 for its "great balance and purity with bright fruit tones of plum, blackberry and sweet spice". It is complimented for its "easy-drinking expression" and "bright point of acidity...to keep the palate refreshed".
Parker recommends a pairing with pasta and wild boar sauce or roast beef.
To be enjoyed in maturity, 2014 - 2020.
